Applications Now Open: Active Disability Service Awards 2026

Active Disability Service Awards Applications Open

Active Disability Ireland is delighted to welcome the submission of applications from Day Services in Ireland for the Active Disability Service Awards, taking place on Wednesday, June 24th in Athlone Springs Hotel.  

The Awards celebrate and reward Disability Services throughout Ireland who challenge the norms and show commitment to helping people with disabilities stay active through engaging and innovative initiatives.  Applicants are invited to submit their applications for the following categories:  

Initiative Categories: 

  • Best Physical Activity Initiative 
  • Best Outdoor Activity Initiative 
  • Best Community Engagement Initiative 
  • Best Healthy Lifestyle Initiative 

People Categories: 

  • Active Champion (Male) 
  • Active Champion (Female) 
  • Best Active Healthy Me Leader 
  • Best Disability Organisation Senior Management 

Eligibility Criteria 

  • HSE funded disability service 
  • Enrolled in the Active Healthy Me programme with at least one completed module 
  • Deliver physical activity, health promotion and community inclusion initiatives

Closing date for submissions is 5pm Friday, 1st of May 2026.

About the Active Disability Service Awards 

The Active Disability Services Awards is a national celebration recognising leadership, innovation, and commitment to inclusive physical activity and wellbeing across Disability Services in Ireland. The theme for 2026 is ‘Leading by Example’, with the awards set to take place on the 24th of June in Athlone Springs Hotel. The event is hosted by Active Disability Ireland and supported by the HSE and Sport Ireland. 

The awards aim to champion physical activity, health promotion and community inclusion initiatives that have arisen from engaging with our ‘Active Healthy Me’ programme. The programme drives forward Active Disability Ireland’s vision of ‘an Ireland where people with disabilities have equal opportunities to be active.’
