eLearning Workshop

This course is designed to help you better understand inclusion and disability. By the end you will have:

  • Learnt about the different types of disability
  • Examined attitudes towards people with a disability
  • Considered appropriate language and terminology
  • Explored practical ways to make your coaching, teaching, and instruction inclusive using the inclusion continuum and the TREE model.

This workshop has been developed and dedicated to the memory of Louise.

Duration: Recommended duration is 45 minutes, however participants can complete the workshop at their own pace

Who is this workshop for?:

Individuals with an interest in increasing their awareness in sport and physical activity for people with disabilities. Suitable for parents, teachers, coaches, volunteers, coaching administration staff, healthcare workers or professionals working in any of these sectors.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understanding Disability: to define and distinguish between the different disability/impairment groups
  • Increased Awareness: have an increased awareness of people with disabilities taking part in sport and opportunities in your community
  • Reflect and Evaluate: reflect and evaluate on how to make sport and physical activity more inclusive
