Active Disability Ireland recently conducted a survey with sports clubs across the country to gain a greater understanding of the needs, challenges and experiences they have in creating inclusive environments for people with disabilities to take part in sport / physical activity.
The survey was distributed to clubs who have signed the Sports Inclusion Disability Charter and through the network of National Governing Bodies of Sport. 191 responses were received, analysed and developed in to a report. The full report and a summary report can be found below. Active Disability Ireland have proposed recommendations for Clubs, Local Sports Partnerships and National Governing Bodies of Sport to consider.
The aim of conducting this insights report is to help sports clubs develop, embed and sustain inclusive environments and untimately create more participation opportunities for people with disabilities to take part in sport /physical activity.
