LNTI’s mission is to inspire and empower people and communities to connect with nature and Ireland’s outdoors in a responsible way. We do this by understanding how people interact with the natural environment and using evidence-based education to shift that interaction towards responsible, sustainable engagement. This makes our approach to biodiversity training fundamentally different from a scientific or policy-led programme. It is not just about what biodiversity is, but how people experience natural spaces, how they respond within them, and how the right education, signage, and communication can meaningfully change that behaviour. Leave No Trace Ireland’s approach is centred around behaviour change, community empowerment, and place-based education that creates lasting environmental advocates.
