About the Event
To celebrate International Day for People with Disabilities, we produced an informative and interactive online live broadcast titled ‘Adapting – How Change Creates Opportunities’. Cara, in association with Sport Ireland, were delighted to host this live online event which comprised a morning of interviews, panel discussions, personal stories from a host of special guests. It focused on how small changes to facilities, mind-sets and practices can create life-changing opportunities for people with disabilities through sport and physical activity.

Niall O’Flynn
Niall O’Flynn is a writer, producer and director.
As award-winning journalist, he has covered major international news and sports events for newspapers, radio & TV – working in the Middle East, USA, Australia, Europe, UK & Ireland.
He directs a variety of RTE’s flagship programmes, including Prime Time, Claire Byrne Live, Winning Streak, The Sunday Game & International Soccer. He is the author of “Ireland’s Olympians” and a member of the Irish Film & Television Academy.
As a sportsman, he has represented Dublin, Leinster and Ireland, at various levels.

Joanne Cantwell
Joanne Cantwell is an Irish sports presenter. She is the presenter of weekly rugby magazine programme Against the Head on RTÉ Two, and was also a match reporter on Premier Soccer Saturday. During the summer months, Joanne works as a reporter on The Sunday Game, Raidió Teilifís Éireann’s main Gaelic games television programme. It is shown on RTÉ Two every Sunday during the Football Championship and Hurling Championship seasons.
